ALMS: Lehto/Werner victorious also at Lime Rock

LMES: Audi 1-2 victory at the Nürburgring

STCC: Second place for Audi driver Fredrik Ekblom

DTM: Countdown for Shanghai DTM race ALMS: Within eight days, Team ADT Champion Racing has celebrated two victories in the American Le Mans Series (ALMS) with the Audi R8. After winning at Mid-Ohio, JJ Lehto and Marco Werner on Monday clinched the victory also in the "New England Grand Prix" at Lime Rock (US state of Connecticut). After 2:45 hours, the Finnish-German pair won by just 1.429 seconds. The early stages of the races were crucial: While many teams changed tyres during a rain-shower, JJ Lehto continued with slicks and took the lead on a fast drying track. Despite a non perfectly timed first pit-stop and a stop-and penalty, Lehto/Werner were able to take a narrow victory.

LMES: Audi Sport UK Team Veloqx secured a 1-2 victory in the Nürburgring 1000-kilometre race, giving the Audi R8 its first ever win in Germany. After an exciting race held in mixed weather conditions, Pierre Kaffer and Allan McNish were victorious ahead of their team-mates Jamie Davies and Johnny Herbert. Seiji Ara and Rinaldo Capello finished fourth with Audi Sport Japan Team Goh's Audi R8 despite being involved in a collision which was not their fault in the closing stages of the race.

STCC: At Falkenberg, Audi driver Fredik Ekblom narrowly missed his second Swedish Touring Car Championship (STCC) victory of the season. After finishing fourth in the sprint, the reigning champion crossed the finish line of race two in second position a mere 1.169 seconds behind the winner. Driving Team KMS Motorsport's other Audi A4 STCC, Tommy Kristoffersson finished both races within the top five, recording his best result of the season.

DTM: For Audi Sport and the two factory teams Audi Sport Team Abt Sportsline and Audi Sport Infineon Team Joest, final preparations for the upcoming DTM invitation race in Shanghai (China) on July 17/18 have started. At the end of this week, the cars will be transported to Shanghai from Germany by plane. Not only will Audi's regular six DTM drivers compete in the "East Race Festival". Audi has entered additional cars for "star of tomorrow" Peter Terting and Le Mans winner Rinaldo Capello. The Italian got to grips with the Audi A4 DTM testing at Adria last week.
