Thanks for the advice guys. I actually own a Bissell carpet cleaner so might give that a go. I also read that white viniger diluted in water might work. Not sure if it might stain the fabric though.

mmm I am not expert on this but I know autoboxes can be a bugger to fix. To me it sounds like its a sensor fault somewhere but it may need a fault coder reader or specialist to diagnose.

IN the £192 bill you had does it specify removal of the cambelt to remove the sump, usually there is no need.
You may have been very very unlucky and coincidental but does sound a bit odd to me. |

No Worries,
just a thought, make sure he changes the water pump to. They fail at the same time as the belt is due and has the same affect as the belt snapping since they are run directly off the time ... |
