I had a slightly different problem with my A6. Got the discs and pads changed. resevoir lid off and paper towel wrapped round in case of spillage. All went well....... untill i started the car.

I had a new key 2 pushbutton type for my A6 and the dealer said they couldn't code it because the door lock didn't give a signal. Contact broken I believe.

Does sound like the ariel has a fault but apart from finding away to install an external ariel cant think of an easy option.

Actually I just managed to get it to work at the weekend.
You need a transponded key that is not being recoded in the ignition and according to Autodata turn it one step but I turned the ignition ful ... |

Hope your car doesn't pull my ones stunt which is that it learnt the new key fob but wont work with it. Told by Audi they will have to take the dash out to investigate. A £600 starting price | |

Just a warning. The Moly grease gets everywhere, on seems to take a drop of it.
If you are sure no grit got in when the boot was split you can add a little more grease before finally clamping on the ... |
