Did you scrub it with a soft natural fibre brush or was it just a sponge?
The brush is about as rough as you can go. Chemcials and jet washing you risk seperating the internal waterproof lining from the canvas.
You could give it a few washes then recolour it with roof paint.
Is the green stuff moss? Do you store it in a garage overnight? |

I had to give mine a good scrub with a black Renovo kit to get rid of the green. Once it was done it came up like new. You can get all 3 bottles, the cleaner, black paint and the 'proofer'. The cleaner is the best soft-top cleaner I have used yet, it's pretty good stuff, but not particularly cheap. |

It sure looks like it, but the usual eBay precautions apply. |

Hi
Best thing for getting rid of the green moss is baby bottle sterilizing fluid such as Milton and a soft brush. I used it on my blue hood especially round the stitched areas with a toothbrush,a few scrubs then put the hose on it and it just run off.

I tried the MIlton (still had some in the house) but it didnt work for me.
Got he Renovo kit of cleaner and re-proofer and it took 95% of the green moss (Lychen ?) out of the roof. You will need a large firm (but not too hard) brush for the roof, and a small nail brush for the stitch area's.
Use a jet washer from a 2 metre's distance to rinse out, and do this 3 times to really get a deep clean.
They didnt offer a green re-colour product so I just re-proofed it and it looked better, but not "as new" like the black roofs can do if they have been re-coloured. |
