Loco, once youve got it up and running and want the carbs set up give BD engineering a call in gillingham. They are a dealer for Webber. My mate takes his twin carb westfield there to get set up and he does a cracking job. Ive used him before to sort out a few problems with my 20v cq as hes got a 4wd rolling road as well.

Group thrash, Gav?
Email me details, or pm.....
Loco,
contact Andy: 01332 812800 he's got at least 2 of these in various stages of resto. May be able to give you pointers with regards parts, etc.
One was offered to me some time back, but he had it, and the other was an editorial car fro VW Motoring years ago.... |

Yep this is the one, dont know about only 1 of 4 left being Peter Noad has 2, this 1, 2 Andy knows about plus another he valued, and the guy who sold me this knows of another in the Bristol area thats 7. Still the more the better maybe there will be a few parts flying about. What I do need though is a main beam headlight, I was wondering if the early Scirrocco ones fit.......................mmmmmmmmm. The car will be delivered to me end of march. Meanwhile I need to sell my Yamaha XJR 1300 SP |

I know this is out of your way,but I reckon it's worth a try,(if you have'nt already). G.T.Autospares is a VW/Audi breakers in Manchester and he's been going for, well, years. He also keeps all his older stock, there's even a 100s coupe in there that's virtually complete.Out of all the places I can think off up here you may find early bits it has to be this guy, well guys(Geoff and Roger Green).Hope it's of some use to you.

Nice to see an engine bay where you can drop your tool tray in, and still put your cuppa somewhere |

Oh yes nothing complex here, the simpler the better. Looks like I need to add a headlight to the list. |

Of course I will, didn`t think you were getting away with my Audi shaped shananigans. It may take a couple of years though. I will do it in stages with regular updates. |

Dont you remember? im running a toyota celica GT4 2.0 16v turbo 4wd at the moment and i hate it. Still its putting out over 200bhp and still gives me 30-35mpg but id rather have my old 20v cq or my old 10v ur any day. Anyone wanna swap for a 20v coupe or 90 doesnt have to be a quattro? Still got my 83 80 sport and my wifes 20v coupe so ive not completely left the clan. (even my wife is making me feel like a traitor to the cause now)

Countdown to delivery of the GT is still ticking, keep them eyes peeled for any bits and pieces. I managed to find a new pair of rear shocks on Ebay currently £4.99 !! |

The 20v's a 170bhp twin cam 5-pot, thankfully the celica has gone.

GT will be delivered Friday after me and Paul (the guy who sold it to me) have come to an agreeable delivery date. Sold one of my bikes to make room for the old girl in the garage. I`ve now found a brand new Brake master cylinder as well for £4.99, Ebay can be a great place sometimes.
I`m still after a rear arch repair, sills and Peter Noads contact details as he`s got 2 of em or anyone else who knows of an owner out there.

Well I took Delivery of the GT and what a wreck it is, however there are plenty of good points including a spare pair of rust free wings.
After a good look around I can report the floor has come away under the drivers seat, the boot lid is rotton as is o/s rear wheel wing/arch, door skin. The positives are a big valve gas flowed head with piper HR 285 cam coupled to a Delloretto 45 DHLA carb on a special inlet manifold, K&N chrome filter, Koni dampers, uprated springs. Most of the brightwork excluding the bumpers and door handles is alloy so in good shape, there is a spare head and cams, radiator with fan and lots of shims complete with the Hazet tool to change them. Looking through the history with around 3.5k of receipts its hard to believe the same owner let the car get to this stage as there are also some pictures showing the car immaculate less than 1000 miles than it has on the clock now (98000).
The interior is not too bad although absolutly filthy and the headlining is shot there is an Alleybars full FIA roll cage and a pair of Britax harnesses.
So if I loose heart, which is quite possible as I didn`t reckon on the floor and bootlid being shot, (scarce item) then there are loads of parts to sell off.
Ho hum desisions decisions

OK, the latest after an all over power wash to get the cow shit off is.........
Rotton o/s/r quarter panel, o/s/r wheel arch, o/s/r inner wing where it meets the sill, o/s/r wing where it meets the tail light, floor, bulkhead, both front inner wing tips. Apart from all that it`s immaculate . Got some details of other owners now so I just need the inspiration to get stuck in . Otherwise it`ll be a doner for the other 1/2 dozen in the country. |

No, Peter wasn`t one of the previous owners but he`s coming round to buy the Ally Sump Guard. I haven`t got in touch with Andy yet but will soon.
Cheers for the tip |
