Hi guys, finally got my Weitec suspension kit fitted and boy what a difference it's made! This kit is by far one of the best i've had on any car i've lowered in the past. The ride feels more or less like factory, however the body roll has been eliminated, the stance is far better as you can see and even the rebound rate feels alot better than the standard setup. Albeit the original suspension had done nearly 118k miles... All in all, i'm very very pleased as it was the missing link for my car and the transformation has made my Avant feel tight and sturdy on the road
Here are some pictures and apologies as I forgot to take some before shots , but to give you an idea I could have probably put my head between the tyre and the arch before!

Thought it looked lower than mine. My 40mm kit lowered the car about 25mm but might settle a bit more with a few miles under it's belt. It looks like it should have done from the factory.
My kit was fitted up at Bladerunners place a few weeks back and along with an S6 front anti roll bar, a factory sport rear and a set of 8x17 S6 wheels it has made a huge difference to the feeling of the car. No surprise really as all the shockers were well past their best and one had lost all it's oil and had no resitance in either direction.
A full photo write up will appear in due course in my 'Big Green Bus' project thread when I have the time to sit down and plan it out properly.
Cheers
David |

Sounds good David, look forward to seeing the full report.
Speaking of report, I have just ordered the custom fit front armrest for my A100 and should be getting it next week. Once that's in, i'll take some pics and report here too! |

Hi Spink, well they seem to have sold out of most of these kits, however they seem to be making them upon request.
So basically, i've been told that until further notice, keep ordering them! |

Hi Paul, glad to hear you're happy with your kit mate. And what difference it made, don't you think? BTW, what size are your wheels?
Would also like to say a big thank you to all that has bought from me and apologies to Bladerunner for giving you extra work! |

Mmm, 17's eh? Any arch rubbing issues? I wasn't sure if 17's would fit with the 60mm drop at the front. Also what are the profile of your tyres?
Sorry for all the Q's Paul |

They are 225/45/17 and wheels are ET35, but have taken them of as need new rubber and 15's dont feel right.
Had my friends s4 wheels on at the airfield and he has 235/40/17 on the rear and it felt good.
Mr bladerunner sent me this site http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html, have a look as the 225/45/17 it is about an inch bigger and 215/45/17 is best if you want to stay at stock size. |

17's will go but you need to check th ET (offset) as the front is tight, that is why I went for a 7 inch rim that is ET35 so it gives me 10mm more clearance from the strut and changes the outer postion by 10mm making the arch look fuller. |

Yes I see what you're saying...And I suppose its a completely different ball game with deep dish wheels when you have to consider this as well as caliper clearance. |

Deep dish depends on the wheel shape + ET and cant see why the calipers would be a problem.
Here is a pic of my wheels, as you can see they have a little bit of a dish. |

Very well I would imagine due to the fact it's firmer than factory suspension.
BTW, i'm also a 'DOTZ' dealer if you like the Mugello's - gorgeous wheel! |

just a bit of technical input.. when I fitted the 60/40 kit to pauls car I looked at the front springs before fitting and thought it might sit almost as low mine, (spax springs / koni adjustable), which while I love is not very practical for an everyday estate car..
what I've done to mine, (because with the spax 60mm fronts it really is more like 85mm drop) and to pauls 60mm fronts is fit a modified upper spring seat rubber to the bottom of the strut which raises the spring by about 4 / 5 mm and also seems to isolate more of the road noise from the front struts, (at least it does on my car, not driven pauls enough before & after enough to confirm).
So to sum up these cars are like allroad's on steroids with factory standard suspension (fwd), so when you lower them to audi sport style stance (60/40 kit) the undersides will be lower than it appears from outside, as such speed bumps especially the sump crusher type take on a whole new level of danger... I have to slow to a crawl and drive over the hump as most wont go underneath.. however mine is a bit lower |

Additional..
I also recommend while you are doing it you replace the front strut damper cap nut. the plastic damper protector support that should be fitted greased and worked so it turns freely on the damper cap nut, and the damper gaiter as well... premature damper failure will be the result if this is not sorted / renewed / correct
Also you should replace or disassemble & clean the strut top bearings and regrease, (I use putoline racing bearing grease). If you do both sides together mark the strut tops to strut as the strut top bush has camber position set.. all the above is included in my fitting service
Ideally when the car has settled you'll need to do front cambers / and tracking.. you may also suffer increased bump steer (60/40) due to steering arm angle> I've reversed the steering arm balljoint position on the strut on mine to counter the significant lowering, so making steering arms level.. |

Hi guys, just been reading this thread, you seem to know what your doing which is nice to know.
Cars look great.
What i would like to know is can this kit be used on a 1990 Audi 100 2.2 5 cylinder 10v turbo FWD. Im after a lowering kit (springs and shocks) that will drop the car nicely on maximum 17" rims with a little stretched tyres nothing to much, a little bit like this: but i think the front a bit higher than this golf
But i really dont want any scrubbing at all. Thats my fear.
My car
Anyway, i hope you can answer my query.
Thanks

Hi Andy and welcome! I've had a look for you and believe it or not you have a couple of options. Firstly, AP make a kit which will lower 40/30mm front and rear respectively. I can do this for £295.00 inc VAT and delivery, this is the kit: http://www.venommotorsport.com/product_details.php?id=426&manufacturer=AP&category=Suspension
And Weitec do a kit too giving you 35/35mm front and rear, but I will need to check prices tomorrow for you if you're interested. This is the Weitec kit: http://www.venommotorsport.com/product_details.php?id=44237&manufacturer=Weitec&category=Suspension
Many thanks
