Hi
Had a problem with my oil temp guage in my A6 advant AEL

It had not worked for months and then one day when servicing worked again , only to not work for days again

So
- checked sensor , cleaned and tested working fine
- placed the wire to body earth , no gauge action

So onto the guages

- Removed the clocks from the car
- Removed the panel that has the 3 dials in
- looked the middle dial the oil temp guage

I then found it was not soldered to the board , but sort of rivet like and was loose slightly , so used bent the rivet ends back into the board to try and stop any slack

- Re assembled and working fine
- Been working for a month now , no issues

Thought i would pass this cheap easy fix on

Cheers

Nice one, mine barely shows even when giving it beans on the motorway. May be due to high resistance at that rivet. Thanks for that!
