Nothing teeth rattling, but under moderate braking from speed (motorway slip road for example) I'm feeling a mild 'soft' vibration through the steering. I call it soft as there's no definite clunk like you get from a shagged bush (which I had once before - rear control arm bush was missing the inner sleeve).

Though it might have been front wheel bearings, so replaced them, only to find the problem still there. Bushes and ball-joints got a visual once I had it apart, as well as finally fitting some new shocks.

Could it be warped discs? Any other things to check or tests to perform before tearing the front suspension apart again..??

I've had this before on mine, I stripped the front calipers and cleaned and greased the slider pins and it went away. That was a while ago and it's back now, so I presume they've dried out again.

hmm. and now I've got a sticking handbrake mechanism (again) after freeing up seized slider pins on the rear discs at the weekend.
I'm getting bored of faffing around with brakes. I got some quattro front calipers that I've been meaning to get refurbished and fit, perhaps just nuke the problem from orbit with fully refurbished calipers all around..
