Im changing the suspension on my 1991 coupe 2.3e.
There are quite a few different top mounts.

Thanks for your time.

Try and get Lemforder or Boge.

They're cheap though and don't last that long

none of them last long. 3-5 years is typical, sometimes less.

I've yet to see favourable reviews of Meyle products

Those lemforder ones are correct

Thanks Mike for your info.

While we are talking about suspension are these any good.

Also the local garage say I need to be careful when buying lowered suspension. They said my car might have come new with lowered suspension on and if I stick lowering suspension on the tyres will rub ? Is this correct ?

30-40mm drop on a Coupe will be fine. It's 60mm and higher drops that can lead to problems.

I tend to keep my cars standard so can't recommend any one brand over another.

I'm not familiar with ST

For oem, it will be dealer only. Most likely obsolete or difficult to get.

you can normally get Sachs / Boge shocks and keep the standard springs. unless the miles are sky high, the springs will likely still be good

For that kind of money, I'd suggest Koni or Bilstein - German suppliers will be your best bet

Hey Mike.

The car has done 145k miles and the shocks and springs are still original.

Are H&R springs any good ? http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/Audi_Coupe_2.3_1990/p/car-parts/suspension/suspension-and-steering/lowering-spring/?981440151&1&07c6f8b2e63680828e8c3fbbf82af296b84e3347&000559

What about these koni
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Koni-STR-T-Front-Shock-Absorber-Audi-Coupe-B2-Quattro-2-2E-2-3E-excl-20v/311741330029?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIM.MBE%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D43781%26meid%3Dfcfc315c59dc4c0283d854500a340031%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D2%26rkt%3D2%26sd%3D232144237406

I don't need adjustable koni as this car will not be used much. It didn't sell so I thought I would keep it as a second car for potting about in.

Thanks for all your time.

H & R are one of the better spring manufacturers. Others are PI and Eibach. Not sure if PI are still going.

I'd be very careful with those shocks as it claims B2 and 83-89.

Take your pick from this lot

I used ones made by Topran. All seems well after 10,000 miles.

Hey Mikes2.
You said , I tend to keep my cars standard so can't recommend any one brand over another.
What springs have you found so you can keep the same ride height ?

I fitted genuine front and rear springs to my 90q 20v sport when I overhauled the suspension. 5 years ago for the front and 4 years for the rear. car was on 265k miles in 2012 so the originals had a decent innings.

Fronts were air con versions as standard were not available. They've settled fine and you'd be really hard pushed to see the difference.
