Hi folks, been away for 10 years after my last Quattro. Picked up a 42k on the clock 2004 S4 last Saturday, loving it so far. However, on the journey home from west midlands to skye a few times the temp gauge dropped from 90 down to 60 and then slowly crept back up, I was mainly cruising in 6th and not driving hard. is this normal operation for cold weather at these speeds, never seen a temp gauge do this before, was gonna book it in for a check but if this is normal, as a few folk have said i'll leave it.
also,
what spec of oil do you guys recommend along with coolant, brake fluid etc
and finally before buying read a lot of horror stories about cam chains, are these to be replaced in due course. no unusual noises on cold start but wouldn't expect with mileage as low as this, thanks folks, good to be back.Smile
