A3 3.2 Engine Problem

24000 mile on the clock and the emmissions warning light come on!!!

Audi have investigated and found that the Lamda Sensors (4) do not appear to be working and the engine is running lean.

Lambda Sensors check and replaced.. problem with lean mixture persists.

Audi have consulted Milton Keynes (HO) and they have suggested a few tests... no luck as yet.

Apparently the Golf 3.2 has suffered a similar problem!

Has any one expirienced a similar problem and what was the solution?

Suggestions please

I asked a colleague with a 3.2TT and he's had no probs other than losing out to my recently chipped S3. Embarassed

He will ask around his buddies and see if anytone has experienced similar.

The dyno showed a pre-chipped output of 242bhp, so +17 on expected standard. Now shows 281bhp!
Not bad for €695, around £500, fitted.
and there I was about to go mad with Oettinger for €7,000 for 300hp

Just had a 3.2 A3 in at work with the same problem, mixture too lean and the tech' went with a broadband lambda probe, (lambda probe before cat). He also spoke to Audi uk, so I'll keep you informed with what he gets!
