It's a 2.2 manual and has recently been having problems. Usually between 2-3k revs the car begins to jerk and power is just not there. Sometimes it's smooth but sometimes really bad. Had previously been cured by new plugs and leads but has started again worse than ever. Any ideas as to what could be causing this?

did you change the dizzy cap, look inside it to see what condition its in, any signs of tracking/burning then change it. Fuel filter could be clogged up. Take a plug out and see how your fuel has been burning Evil or Very Mad

You say the problem was temporarily cured by changing the servicing parts, have you checked the condition of these since the problem has returned?

Dizzy cap has been replaced with a new one and spark plugs and leads are in good condition. Also, fuel filter has been replaced with new one. Just sent it in for MOT, but had to be stopped part way through as serious leaks from petrol tank and fuel lines. Looks like wax oil was stopping leak. This may be the problem. Been quoted about £65 to have tank replaced but not sure whether to bother as I'm pretty sure it'll also fail on rear off side brake and nearside front spring. Does anyone have any parts for these?
