Hi, new member here,I have a 100 avant 1993,over the last few days engine has been hard to start but ran ok,Today hard to start ,once running
it would idle but would not rev(put pedal to the floor but completley flat, after a few minutes it would slowly pickup.Took it for a run still running very flat
and when i had to stop at lights it would not rev again, also noticed on the over run it backfired a lot.
Any info most welcome

Sounds like a big induction leak or the timing has gone mad. Check for disconnected hoses/air leaks which you may hear. I take it when you try to rev there is no noticeable difference in the engine?

Pilgrim, thanks for your reply, found that the timing had jumped some teeth, also noticed that the belt is not sitting in the middle of the tensioner it's rubbing the outer edge,Is this normal as this is a new t/wheel,or is there a certain way to adjust the tensioner.
Many thanks Graham
