I have a start and idle problem when engine is cold. I replaced spark plugs, plug leads and G 26 sensor. ( I use Shell petrol). The engine starts ok when hot after a few miles. It appears the problem may be the battery not holding it's charge. Alternator is ok according to volt gauge on dashboard. Voltage dropped to 11.87 volts overnight. Battery is 13yrs old. I have tried jump start with another battery and it started ok with no problem. Indications are that a new battery will solve the problem. Any comments or help will be appreciated. Rolling Eyes

If you've had 13 years service from a battery you've done well.

You don't say if it's not turning over very well which is the first sign of the battery struggling. Starting the car puts quite a strain on the battery and if it's weak, starting will suffer
