I don't know what this bolt does, but would advise caution as A2 stainless is significantly weaker than 8.8 grade steel fasteners. Sometimes VAG use 10.9 or even 12.9 grade fasteners so it may not be up to the job?
A4 stainless is a bit better in that it is close to 8.8 grade in strength. Stainless does have different coefficient of friction and 'springiness' You may find if you torque to the figs in the manual that the bolt is not as secure as it should be?

Hi, this bolt is the one that holds down the edc controller on the pump. They do not require to be TOO tight as you are compressing the rubber seals. All I am saying is this bolt with the Bosch security head is a bugger to remove and I now use the new bolt to do the job. I have now done all four of my Audi's with complete success.

Fair enough, I guess they are OK used there.
