Does anyone know how to release a manually operated sunroof that has seized closed from years of non use?

I have pushed the sunroof up as far as possible by hand and squirted WD40 around the seal from outside and this has helped a bit I think, but the handle inside the car only turns a 1/4 turn before stopping solid.

Does the roof lining need to come off to get at the sunroof mechanism from inside or is there an easier way? I have already tried removing the roof lining and I can't work out how it comes off for the life of me!

Any thoughts appreciated

Thanks Mike, the 2 side hooks seem to seized as well, brute force appears to have worked though......on one side. The near side now opens and closes as smoothly as can be expected considering its been stuck closed for a decade or more! Off side is still stuck closed, though does open a little more than it did do. Everything got another good dose of WD40 to let it soak in over a day or two.

Only problem now is that as I was closing it up again for the night the ratchet on the handle has stopped engaging and now just spins on the spindle! Hopefully I'll be able to replace this once I've got the sunroof open. One step forward.......
