Hi,
My C4 always has a dry pipe from IC to intake manifold. I mean, it doesn´t have any oil vapour from CCV.
I can find a little bit of oil condensation in the bottom of the IC, but NO oil whatsoever in the IC to intake manifold pipe.

Can any of you blessed souls check yours and tell me what you see ?

Just trying to figure out if my CCV system is working right...

Idea

Cheers everyone !

Hi,
Anyone had the chance to check their intake manifold boost pipe? Just to see if there´s oil in there, even it is just a light film.

Mine looks dry. This is not normal as the blow-by vapour should get into the turbo, then IC, and then into this pipe.

My previous A4 had this pipe with oil film inside !

Thanks

mine always had oil in that pipe

its common for the oil to rot the pipe away from the inside out

Mine is absolutely dry !!

The blow-by oil vapours that come from inside the valve cover appear to be more "wet" when they first go from a round compartiment inside the valve cover with a rubber "flap" (looks like a hat with a spring) that is connected to the sump into the oil cyclone valve near the the oil cap.

Then, I believe it returns from that cyclone valve (in this cyclone valve the oil tiny-drops get trapped and fall into the oil sump), and comes back to the cam-shaft / valve cover to come into the turbo intake pipe.

So, in the end, after trapping the tiny-oil particles, maybe what passes into the turbo intake (and later Intercooler and even later the Intake manifold boost pipe) is a dry vapour.

Anyway, In my previous A4, this intake pipe was full of an oil film.

The C4 2.5 TDi is not.
