Today my accelerator pedal foot pad broke off. Its a spring loaded piece on the end of the pedal arm that is/was attached with a plastic flexible hinge. Only the plastic hinge has expired. Before I re-attach it with a bloody great PK screw through the middle, has anyone solved this problem in a slightly more elegant manner? Perhaps the whole assembly cunningly detaches from the accelerator pedal arm and is replaceable. Then again I probably would have to buy the entire pedal assembly at a "reassuringly expensive" price. |

Unfortunately, you can't buy this seperately.
Think it's about £70 in the UK for a new pedal |

This has happened to most of my Quattros eventuly. I find a black cable tie can hold the pedal together well and is barely noticable and will last forever, nearly! |

Hmm, lets see, £70, £32.96 +VAT or a couple of cable ties?
Hang the expense, I used 3 cable ties!
Thx gents. |

Hi, just to say I also used zip ties to resolve the same issue. After doing so I realised I could use some black Sugru (mouldable silicon putty) to stick it in place. I used the equivalent to 3 or 4 mini packets to ensure that it was stuck at any places the accelerator war close to the pedal. Use too much and it becomes harder to locate the pedal in the correct position. To hold it in place whilst it cures I used zip ties. It needs to cure (dry) so best to leave it over night. Cut the zip ties off when cured. |

I've been told to use some sickaflex (strong black silicon) and a bolt to put it back in. I failed at trying to drill a hole and broke the drillbit in it haha. I never though of cable ties so I reckon I'll give that a go. |

I followed your lead some 6-7 years ago and it's holding strong |
