is that the oil pressure valve ?

retains oil in the head after switch off

also controls oil flow to the head while running

Thanks Mike, l'll have to see if you can buy a new one or clean it.

Ive got spare 2.6 V6 engines, if you want to rebuild one and then swap it in one weekend so your not without your car. Don't want anything for them.

yeah decided it's far too much of a faf so going to strip my 2.6 and renew all the seals and gaskets so it's dry again Rolling Eyes (summer job)

Found it has a bog standard sealed bearing so pushed out the old one and fitted a good quality german bearing, much better than some Chinese copy.

ok so more digging around has shown it's not quite a weekend job, as l will need loom and ecu, and sort the immobilizer and poss change the instrument cluster, so l'll probably pass....

Sounds liker thermostat, especially if the temp gauge shot up, might be getting stuck and you squeezing the rad pipes freed it off.

I'd be surprised if these alone are causing your drain because the draw is so low a lot of new cars have them on all the time, l'd have your battery checked and that there isn't a drain from somewhere ...

look at the boot wiring next to the hinge, where it bends.
But on the coupe the wiring for the locks etc is in the body the only wiring going into the hatch is for the wash wipe.
