Hi we have a 80 with a 2.8 v6 ahh engine in its blow up:-( the lad down the road has a 80 .2.6 v6 which a tree fell on in the storm. Will the engine bolt and plug straight in with his ecu?

I doubt it. I think the 2.8 has a different intake system (variable valve/ vane?)

If you have the complete engine with ancillaries there's no reason it wont fit, they are both 12v V6 engines, make sure you get the loom for the engine too as well as the ecu which is bolted in the left hand footwell. Good luck
