Dashboard cracks

Has anybody found any good way of dealing with dashboard cracks? I'd like to do something about mine, and as the screen is coming out soon to replace the seal the it may be a good opportunity. I guess swapping the dash is the only real solution, but would involve finding a decent uncracked dash in the correct colour then what's probably a tricky job to swap it. When abroard I have noticed that the taxis often have fitted dash-protector made of some kind of heavy vinyl over them, maybe this could be an alternative fix. All ideas appreciated...

covering it maybe a good option if you can't get second hand.....

what colour do you need, and what age car?

It's that kind of odd purpley-brown colour, from a 1983-mfd 80q. They don't seem to come up for sale often...

We did have one, but I think it was black. (Not sure we still have it)

I can look next time I'm up, but it will not be for about a month
