Hi, I'm about to buy a used A6 estate, up to five years old, but I can't decide between a 2.0 or 2.7 diesel, any help would be greatly appreciated. Joel.

Ah, horses for courses dear chap, if you want a reliable old nag that doesn't need much hay, buy a 2.0, but if your penchant is for the odd racing filly buy a 2.7 (but preferably not one from a stud).

Cheers and happy hunting......

Well, once you've experience a V6 there is no way back Very Happy

Yes, it cost more in fuel (I average approx 38 mpg) but you save on not having to replace cambelts...

Good luck

Thanks for that, I must admit I'm leaning toward the 2.7

You'll certainly find the 2.7 more fun!

I once had a 2003 2.5TDi (C5 platform) and currently have a 2005 1.9DTi 130. The 1.9 has adequate power and gets better MPG but the 2.5 was a more satisfying drive.
