Hi.

I was driving on the highway for 5 hours yesterday. I noticed that the engine loses power when i was driving at about 150km/h(93mph) for a while. At lower speeds it seems ok, and also when accelerating when it's allready working. But if i stay in 150 km/h(93mph) or more for some minutes, it loses power. I can bearly stay at the same speed when the power is reduced. I have a turbo boost gauge installed, and in 140-150km/h it peaks at 1.3 bar when accelerating and all the power is there, but after the power is reduced(lost) it only peaks at 0.8 bar at the same speed with full throttle. The car don't even accelerate.

Is my turbo bad? The engine runs fine in slower speeds. I normally don't drive much on highways here.

I'm happy for all answers😊

firstly what car / engine have you got. Sounds like it could be over boosting and going into limp mode. When the power decreases how do you get it to come back? Turn engine off and on again?

Oh, i thought this text showed every time... Was added as extra info on my account info.

94" Audi 100 Avant 2,5 tdi AAT(engine is from A6 C4) about 140hp(I was told when I bought it) 4 speed automatic transmision

While driving in this speed i was talking about, I can get the power back if i put it in nuteral and meet with a little throttle but i have to heave a little less rpm as if it was in drive. If i have too much rpm in nuteral while putting it in drive, the power is not coming back.

Btw, how can i get my car info to allways stay at the bottom of my text?

Your problem sounds like a fuel delivery problem to me - I suggest changing the fuel filter first.

Go to your account and put your car details into the signature field, then it will always be there at the bottom of your posts.

Cheers

Nick
